ANNOUNCEMENT: RUN BARBADOSIt is with regret that we announce that the Barbados Tourism Authority (the main supporter of Run Barbados), has been unable to commit sufficient funding for this year's event, by a critical, 1st March deadline. As a result, Alan Brookes and RCP International have resigned from their position as Race Directors, and have CANCELLED their organization of Run Barbados 2004, as of 3rd March, 2004. We would like to thank everyone, especially the BTA and other sponsors, the outstanding Committee members and volunteers, and the thousands of runners from around the world who have taken Run Barbados to record-levels of success over the past 4 years. We have many happy memories and lasting friendships. We thank you all. Alan and RCP will, of course, continue to build and grow the Canada Running Series, and the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon (26 September 2004). We very much hope that we will see you all again in Toronto in September. With the low Canadian dollar, Toronto is a great, affordable North American marathon option. It is a beautiful world-city, a flat, fast course that had 2 world records in 2003, and a marvellous time of year to see nearby Niagara Falls and Canada's autumn colours. www.torontowaterfrontmarathon.com Every best wish for your running in 2004 and beyond. |
